Raid Report 7-27-14
OK, it was hot…and steamy in Gainesville. The former is an understatement.
We had 35 shooters today! Congratulations to Wabash Valley Slim who took Top Gun honors against most of the best shooters around. Hawkeye Gin edged Kalamity Kae by just over a second for Top Lady.
The intrepid Raiders who shot our July match represent the best people I’ve ever known. Not only did we work hard to create a good match, we also worked hard to put it all away. My home club for all these years has been the Ft. White Cowboy Cavalry. Our steel, tables, and props can stay set up on the dedicated cowboy range. How sweet is that? But, there is much to be appreciated when setup, match, and teardown all happens in less than 24 hours. Besides having to plan ahead (not my strong suit) it brings out the class of the shooters in our game. I am humbled once again by the contributions of so many. Rod, Gin, and I want to thank those who helped make this match happen:
Setup: Major Mishap, Zack McGee, Tornado Timmy, and Rooster Ray
New Zack Rack: Tornado Timmy
Tricia (alias forthcoming) helped with scoring and picked up and coordinated serving lunch. She also surprised Rod with a birthday cake!
Beck A. Boo, Tornado Timmy, Kalamity Kae, and Dominator all helped with photos and videos of the match.
A BIG thanks to Chance Ramsay and Chancey Lady for donating 6 new shotgun targets to the Raiders!
Santa Fe River Stan for making calls and stepping up to help in all aspects of the match.
And all who helped to put away the steel, tables, etc.
We sure work hard to play!
See you all next month.
